Mothers' Union

Mothers' Union is an international Christian membership charity that aims to support families locally and around the world through practical help, prayer and campaigning. The charity began in 1876 when Mary Sumner recognised the need for giving support to family life in a practical way and has developed into the worldwide organisation it is today.

We work with people of all faiths and none in 83 countries to promote stable marriage, family life and protection of children. We support families and communities both in the UK and around the world. There are over 4 million members worldwide. Mothers' Union has changed over the years in that membership is now such that you don't have to be married, a mother or even a woman!

In Christ Church we meet in our Meeting Room in Church on the 2nd Thursday of each month at 7.30pm with the exception of August when we have a summer break.

  • We support the Mothers' Union charity by holding coffee mornings and other events
  • Last year we organised a shoe box appeal in Church and filled 57 shoe boxes with toys, etc. which were sent to children across the world
  • We support our local community in any way we can
  • We have speakers on a variety of subjects
  • We have social events going out on trips and for meals

Please come along, you will be made very welcome.

If you are interested in joining please contact either Sandra Bryers or Beverley Fearn.

About Us

A Parish Church in the Diocese of Liverpool, Deanery of Warrington, ministering to a parish of 9500 people. The church is situated just three miles from Warrington town centre. The building was constructed of local brick and sandstone in 1838. A Chancel and Vestry were added in 1883. In 1992 a new porch was constructed in sympathy with the rest of the building and at the same time a Meeting Room with Gallery above was formed at the west end. A new electronic organ was purchased and installed after completion of the porch extension. We have recently installed an efficient sound system, and lighting has been improved. There is a toilet facility within the porch area, capable of accommodating disabled persons.

Active Church

Active Church is an all age worship and activity service which takes place on the second Sunday of every month, commencing at 10:30am. Parents and children take part in interesting yet simple activities which are followed by a relaxed and friendly act of worship. Come along and enjoy the fellowship.  You will be made very welcome.

Tea and Coffee are available after the service, and if you wish to stay, the morning is completed by a short, yet uplifting, Holy Communion service, to which all are more than welcome.
