Our Rector

Hello, I’m Neil Shaw, Team Rector at Christ Church

I'm married to Philippa and have four grown up children from my first marriage.

My Facebook intro describes me as...husband, dad, ageing rocker, gym slinger and Jesus follower. It doesn't mention that in the Rectory the Kitchen is mine and the Garage is Philippa's. Our choices!!

Prior to becoming a Vicar I worked in Building Societies, British Steel and Cold Storage Haulage. After ordination I worked in two Parishes and 15 yrs as a Prison Chaplain.

As Team Rector of the Warrington East Team and Vicar of Christ Church I have a real passion to see people coming to experience a relationship with God through Jesus and how amazing and life transforming that can be.

About Us

A Parish Church in the Diocese of Liverpool, Deanery of Warrington, ministering to a parish of 9500 people. The church is situated just three miles from Warrington town centre. The building was constructed of local brick and sandstone in 1838. A Chancel and Vestry were added in 1883. In 1992 a new porch was constructed in sympathy with the rest of the building and at the same time a Meeting Room with Gallery above was formed at the west end. A new electronic organ was purchased and installed after completion of the porch extension. We have recently installed an efficient sound system, and lighting has been improved. There is a toilet facility within the porch area, capable of accommodating disabled persons.

Active Church

Active Church is an all age worship and activity service which takes place on the second Sunday of every month, commencing at 10:30am. Parents and children take part in interesting yet simple activities which are followed by a relaxed and friendly act of worship. Come along and enjoy the fellowship.  You will be made very welcome.

Tea and Coffee are available after the service, and if you wish to stay, the morning is completed by a short, yet uplifting, Holy Communion service, to which all are more than welcome.
